The rustic setting of the South Field area of the Reserve is less than 25% of the overall property. Over 200 acres of forest, fields and marsh await your exploration.
We have trails to take you through a variety of forest and terrain. All are well marked and easy to follow. When in doubt head South to get back to the main buildings.

- many Scout Troops use the Wade Lodge as a starting point on Friday night and then head out with their gear loaded on sleds to the North Field or Adirondack Shelters. There they create their quinzies, T trenches or tarp shelters for overnight accomodations.
- Beavers and Cubs enjoy the warmth of the wood stove, but the adventure is just outside where they can go for hikes, make snow creatures or head down to the archery range.
- hint: put a candle or glow stick in a snow creature at night for a really interesting effect.
