In the summer of 2019, after many years of planning, AHSR Rangers and countless other volunteers started/completed the construction of two four-season cabins, both identical.
One cabin is named “McKinnon Manor”. This cabin has a total of 10 beds (5 bunk beds), with storage shelves for camping gear; heated by propane and lighting provided by 12v LED lights with USB charging ports (for smartphones).
“McKinnon Manor” it’s named in honour our the camps longest serving Ranger, Mike McKinnon. Ranger Make has a long history in Scouting in this area, serving with a local Group in Cornwall and a former District Commissioner of the Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry Area (SDG), and served as Warden as well! Mike has been involved with the camp longer than anyone can remember!
We are so proud to have Ranger Mike at the camp! His contributions continue to be noticed and it is why the McKinnon Manor is named in his honour!
The McKinnon Manor can be found here (Google Maps link)
